Sunday 18th November
10.30am - Family service – ‘Shoe box’ Sunday – this is linked to Operation Christmas Child
Saturday 1st December
10am -1pm - Santa Claus called in at our Carrville Christmas Grotto, to meet the local children.
There were refreshments on sale and a number of seasonal stalls.
Sunday 9th December
6pm - Churches Together Carol service at St Joseph’s RC Church in Gilesgate with Sherburn Hill Salvation Army Band

6pm - Family carol service with Pittington Brass Band at Carrville Methodist Church, Durham

Saturday 12th January
Family fun and 'snowman drive' including soup and stottie.
Sunday 27th January
Revd Kate Bruce led the all-age church anniversary which was followed by a three-course lunch.
Saturday 2nd February
This month's coffee morning (10-12) was in aid of RNLI, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, and we heard about the work of the RNLI.
Tuesday 12th February - 11th March
Ecumenical Lent groups were held on Tuesday evenings during Lent at Carrville Methodist Church. Our Lent course this year followed material from Nick Fawcett's group study course, Stop the Difference.
Sunday 24th February
United Service with St Mary Magdalene Church took place at St Mary's at 6pm.
Friday 29th February
An evening of musical entertainment at 7.30pm in aid of the church's two charities for 2008. From Bach to Brubeck by The Dunelm Clarinet Quartet whose leader is George Robinson.
Saturday 1st March
Eco-church group coffee morning 10am - 12pm. During Fair Trade Fortnight the eco-church group had a home baking stall where all baking on this stall included as many fairly traded products as possible.
Holy Week Easter Labyrinth
We experienced something different this Holy Week...A multi-sensory 20 minute journey through the events of Holy Week. We followed Jesus on his journey from his entry to Jerusalem to the cross and his glorious resurrection.
Tuesday 18th March
Holy Week Ecumenical Service of Holy Communion took place at St Mary Magdalene Church at 6.30pm where churches from Belmont, Carrville and Pittington joined together for this service.
Wednesday 19th March
This evening's Holy Week service took place at Sherburn Hill Methodist Church at 7pm and was led by Reverend Heather Taylor.
Thursday 20th March
The Maundy Thursday communion service took place at 7pm.
Friday 21st March
Reverend Alison Wilkinson led the 10.30am Good Friday service.
Saturday 22nd March
The Durham and Deerness Valley Circuit, the group of churches to which Carrville Methodist belongs had a sponsored walk to raise funds for St Cuthbert's Hospice in Durham, with a choice of five circular walks, which between them covered all 16 churches in the Circuit. Each walk was led by a team leader. Walkers returned to North Road at their own pace, where a hot meal was available.
Easter Day - Sunday 23rd March
10.30am - We joined together for our all-age Easter Sunday service led by our minister Alison Wilkinson to celebrate the risen Christ.
The United Service with St Mary Magdalene Church took place at Carrville at 6pm and led by Revd. Neil Dixon.

Ann Fenwick gave a talk on 'Life through my vicarage window'
Friday 25th - Sunday 27th April
Church weekend away at Rydal Hall in Cumbria. The theme for the weekend was 'Finding, following and fishing'', being a disciple of Jesus in the 21st century. A time for fun, fellowship and deepening our spiritual lifes. The weekend included bible study, worship and lots of fun activities, for all ages from the youngest to the oldest.
Sunday 27th April
For those not attending the church weekend away, there was an all-age service at Carrville at 10.30am.The evening United Service with St Mary Magdalene Church took place at St Mary's at 6pm.

Rev Alison Wilkinson led a youth service including communion.
Sunday 25th May
The United Service with St Mary Magdalene Church took place at Carrville at 6pm.
Saturday 7th June
Carrville's annual summer fair raised money for the RNLI and Water Aid and included stalls selling cakes, bric-a-brac, books, crafts. We enjoyed a BBQ and the chocolate fountain!
Sunday 22nd June
The United Service with St Mary Magdalene Church took place at St Mary's.
Friday 27th June
Hartlepool in Harmony performed a summer concert in aid of Water Aid and the RNLI.
Friday 18th July
The annual car treasure hunt was good fun and raised more money for the RNLI and Water Aid.
Monday 28th July - Friday 1st August
'Champion's Challenge' was the theme of our annual kids holiday club and met each morning for children aged 5-11. The children found out about Jesus and had great fun whilst doing so.
