Welcome to Carrville Methodist Church
Thanks for visiting us here in our corner of the internet. We are a group of people committed to following Jesus, and are part of the Durham City East Methodists group which includes people from Methodist churches in Bowburn, Carrville and Pittington. This means we worship him with vigour and joy, and we encourage prayer in church and throughout life. We love people outside the church through generosity, invitation, and compassion. Our hope is that all people will feel loved and welcomed here. Come as you are, check us out, but more importantly, seek the truth of God that can only be known when you know Jesus.
We are very pleased to have been sharing our services with friends from other local churches including the Methodist churches in Pittington, Bowburn and Sherburn Hill. We are delighted to have restarted our in-person services in the church building.
Keep an eye out on our What’s On pages for details of how to join us in-person and online.
Year of Prayer
The Methodist Church has declared that 2020-21 is a year of prayer. It is described on the national church web site as being important so that “our Church-wide commitments to evangelism, church growth, church at the margins, and pioneering and church planting will flow from a deep, contemplative orientation to God’s grace and love.”
This includes a weekly online prayer meeting on Tuesdays at 12.45pm for 15 minutes. The meeting will be live-streamed on Facebook, and you can watch previous prayer meetings online as well. Explore the Year of Prayer web site for more details.
In response to Government recommendations, it is with regret that we have had to suspend many of our our regular meetings and activities on these premises until further notice. Head over to our What’s On page to find out what is happening online and in person. If you need pastoral support, please contact our minister Andy by phone 07539 453 223 or email email@example.com.
We encourage you to continue in worship and prayer in different ways, whether that be individually in your own homes or via online routes. We have created a dedicated page of resources to help you with this.
