We are part of the Methodist Church, and are part of the Durham and Deerness Circuit which is a group of local Methodist churches in and around Durham. Durham City East Methodists includes people from Bowburn, Carrville and Pittington Methodist churches. Our Mission Statement is the foundation for all we do and believe. We look forward to engaging with you in these fundamentals of our church community: Durham City East Methodists are walking together in prayer, worship, witness and fellowship in our communities.

Our What’s On page highlights the range activities taking place regularly in our church. A wide range of external groups also book to use our premises for their activities. To discover what is currently taking place, come and join us or drop us an email to find out more. Our weekly notice sheet distributed at our Sunday services gives information on a regular basis, and is supplemented by a monthly magazine, ‘The Visitor.’  Check our what’s on page for details or changes for all age services and breaks for school holidays.  Details about our bible study and house groups can be viewed on our discipleship page.

We are a Fairtrade church and support a number of charities – local, national and international. We apply the Safeguarding Principles as agreed by The Methodist Church. For details please consult our policy – DCEM Safeguarding Policy.

A Methodist Way of Life

The calling of the Methodist Church is to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission. A Methodist Way of Life encourages us to grow together – in worship, learning and caring, service and evangelism. The Methodist Way of Life commitment card offers a summary of commitments and questions.
